Peter Leung is a stage director and choreographer with a background in dance. His stage direction is deeply rooted in the relationship between the body, space, and others. Music lies at the core of his creative work, serving as a universal language that bridges the disciplines he engages with.

In recent years, Peter has explored a diverse range of projects, including music theatre, opera, virtual reality, and dance. He is fascinated by the evolution of art forms—examining their origins while embracing the possibilities of the future. Interdisciplinary work has become a key focus, which can be seen by his recent projects exploring the intersection of technology and dance (Virtual Reality projects Night Fall and Narcissus & Echo; AI research project Pulse; Waves of Will, a dance research project using brainwave technology (Dentsu Lab with dancer Breanna Olson). Peter has created family performances, danced-concerts, for Philharmonie Luxembourg and Theater Münster, bringing musicians and dancers into one universe.

Over the last several years Peter has been commissioned to stage a diverse range of productions with musicians from The Concertgebouw Orchestra, the Dutch Radio Choir, The National Choir, the National Youth Orchestra. These productions include Johannes Passion, Dido and Aeneas, Petrushka , Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater.

In early 2025 Peter directed, "A New Dawn: Part II", a collaboration with dancer Redo and percussionist DOMNIQ, which toured the Netherlands. This performance reflects his commitment as a stage director to encourage artists to cross the boundaries of their disciplines, bringing a human vulnerability to the forefront through the working process.

Peter thrives on new challenges, continually broadening his creative scope. He has a passion for creating visual imagery as metaphors to amplify the themes that he and his co-creators identify in the works. He loves to shape projects, whether coming from his own concept, or stemming from other people’s.
