The Living Room is an annual concert series by AVROTROS & Groot Omroepkoor that aims to break down some of the borders of the choir’s concert tradition and to introduce new ways of working and performing.
This is the second year I am directing the concert, following last year’s ‘A Circus of Angels’. This years performance stems from the opening piece ‘Mass Observation’ by composer Tarik O’Regan, which explores the ominous side of surveillance. Pieces from Back, Mahler, Sweelinck and Sting. To close the performance Jacob TV’s ‘Mountain Top’ is a call for non-violent protest for freedom.
